The article examines T. S. Eliot as a major poet of modern sensibility with special reference to The Waste Land. It analyzes the spiritual, moral, and cultural disintegration of post?First World War European society as depicted in Eliot's poetry. The study highlights themes such as disillusionment, spiritual infertility, sexual degeneration, loss of faith, and universal ruin. It explores Eliot's modernist techniques, symbolism, imagery, and philosophical vision, portraying The Waste Land as a comprehensive reflection of modern chaos and the quest for regeneration and renewal in a spiritually barren world.
