This paper examines the applicability of qualitative research design in content-based English language teaching, focusing on communication-based instructional approaches for English language learners. It explains the research methodology, including qualitative and quantitative data collection tools such as classroom observation, structured interviews, questionnaires, and triangulation. The study analyzes teaching practices of English teachers in Indian schools to understand how language acquisition and content learning can be integrated effectively. It highlights the role of experiential learning, interaction, corrective feedback, and graphic organizers in enhancing comprehension and cognitive development. The paper emphasizes that qualitative research is particularly suited to studying teaching processes and classroom practices, advocating integrated language and content instruction to support academic success among English language learners.
